John Travolta, Christina Haack more celebrate
Mother’s Day was all about celebration and many stars honored the mothers in their lives with grand gestures, pregnancy announcements and fun videos to mark the occasion.
John Travolta posted a sweet tribute to his late wife Kelly Preston, who died of breast cancer in July 2020. The couple share Ella, 22, Benjamin, 11, and late son Jett.
The “Grease” alum shared a four-and-a-half-minute video to Barbara Streisand’s “That Face” of moments between the couple including their wedding day in 1991, photos with their three children, red carpet appearances, magazine covers and more.
“We love and miss you Kelly. Happy Mother’s Day,” Travolta captioned the post.
Christina Haack spends Mother’s Day in the hospital
“Flip or Flop” alum Christina Haack revealed she spent Mother’s Day in the hospital with her son Brayden El Moussa, 6, whom she shares with Tarek El Moussa.
“Brayden had to have an emergency appendectomy as well as removal of Meckel’s diverticulum early this morning,” she shared on Sunday. “Nothing like seeing your child in excruciating pain 😣..luckily the surgery went well and he is recovering and in good spirits.”
She added: “Blessed to have 3 healthy + happy kids, caring family and friends and a husband who stands by my side. Happy Mother’s Day everyone.”
Haack also shares Taylor El Moussa, 11, with her first husband and son Hudson, 2, with ex-husband Ant Anstead.
The HGTV star’s husband Joshua Hall posted a lengthy tribute to Haack commending her for her “motherly instinct” to take Brayden to the emergency room.
“Christina never slowed, showed any sign of weakness and remained focused the whole time. She is currently without sleep for the last 33+ hours. She will rest again soon, but not until her job as a mom is complete,” he wrote. “So we will always remember this Mother’s Day and I will always remember why God made Christina a mother, because she was made for it.”

Denise Richards reunites with daughter Sami Sheen for Mother’s Day
The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Denise Richards spent Mother’s Day with her daughter Sami Sheen.
Sami, 18, shared photos of the mother-daughter duo on Instagram, writing: “happy mother’s day !! i love u so much mom. u have no idea how grateful i am to have u in my life.”
The reunion between Richards and her daughter comes after the “RHOBH” star revealed on Sirius XM’s “Jeff Lewis Live” that she had a “strained relationship” with Sami. “I know we’ll get back to where we were eventually, but right now, it is strained,” she said in February.
Richards commented on her daughter’s post, writing: “Thank you Sami for an amazing Mother’s Day. It means a lot to me. I know nana was at dinner with us she would never miss one of her favorite restaurants. Thank you & I love you so much.”
Richards shares Sami, and daughter Lola, 16, with her ex-husband Charlie Sheen.
For others, Mother’s Day was doubly special.

Country singer Gabby Barrett, who shares 1-year-old Baylah with singer Cade Foehner, revealed on Instagram that their family was growing.
“My son,” Barrett wrote alongside footage of the baby’s ultrasound. “Another LIFE we get to love and cherish. Happy Mothers Day!”

Michelle Obama names exhibit at the Obama Presidential Center after mother
Michelle Obama celebrated her mom with a whole building.
The former first lady announced Friday with a social media video that she would be naming a new exhibit at the Obama Presidential Center after her mother, Marian Robinson. The “Opening the White House” exhibit, which will be dedicated to Robinson, will include replicas of some of the white house’s main hosting spaces including the East Room, the Blue Room and the South Lawn.
“My mother gave me that nonstop, unconditional love that was so important for me to grow up. In so many ways she fostered in me a deep sense of confidence in who I was and who I could be,” Obama said in the video.
Obama said the new exhibit will be “infused with so many of the values” her mother taught her: community, family, bringing people in and creating a welcoming space.
She also gave her mom a Mother’s Day shout-out on Instagram Sunday, sharing a throwback photo of the two of them with Obama’s daughters Malia and Sasha: “I’ve shared so much of her wisdom with my own daughters over the years,” Obama wrote.
Joe Jonas, Justin Bieber, Kris Jenner, more stars honor the mom’s in their life
Joe Jonas shared a photo of wife Sophie Turner sitting outside the British New York grocery store Myers of Keswick on his Instagram story. “Happy Mums Day,” Jonas wrote. “you sexy lil British thang u!”
The Jonas Brothers member also wished his mother a happy Mother’s Day with a cheeky Instagram video, which features Jonas sipping on a beverage while nodding his head to an acoustic cover of his brother Nick Jonas’ song “Jealous.”
“Thinking about that time I took credit for my Moms toot in the car when I was 10. Wow. I really am the superior son,” Jonas wrote.
Kylie Jenner reflected on being a “young mom” to Stormi, 4, and a 3-month-old baby boy (whose new name has yet to be disclosed).
“Being a young mom just means we met a little early and I get to love you a little longer,” she captioned a series of photos and videos of Stormi.

Halle Berry shared two photos with her former 5th grade teacher for Mother’s Day.

Berry also showed off her “Mother’s Day BLING” on her Instagram Story of jewelry with her kids’ names. The actress is a mother to daughter Nahla Ariela, 14, and son Maceo Robert, 8.
Mariah Carey shared photos of her Mother’s Day celebrations including a yacht ride and a trip to Disneyland with her 11-year-old twins, son Morrocan and daughter Monroe.

Kanye West upped his Mother’s Day tribute with a music video to “Life of the Party,” dedicated to his later mother Donda. It includes several photos from his childhood.
Odette and Dave Annable revealed they’re expecting baby number two alongside a video of their daughter Charlie, 6, jumping with excitement after finding out she’s about to have a sibling.

Mitchell also stressed a message about a woman having a choice over becoming a mother, presumably in response to a leaked draft Supreme Court opinion that indicated the court may upend the 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade that established a constitutional right to abortion.
“At the end of the day, you should only become a mom if YOU want to become a mom. This very important decision should be just that. A choice,” the actress said. “Atlas — home is wherever you are. Thank you for making me a mom.”
