What are Tacos in a Bag

I mean, it is what it is! Also sometimes called “Walking Tacos”, Tacos in a Bag are quite literally deconstructed tacos in a little chip bag. Ready to have your mind blownnnn? All you have to do to is open up an individual size bag of your favourite taco chips, pile in your taco toppings and enjoy. No plates required (but definitely forks!), making them one of the best outdoor summer meals.

The Best Tacos Toppings

I LOVE tacos. Truly. It is the one meal we eat every week. Not that my family and I will ever ever be ‘over” eating them, but this recipe is a really fun take on regular tacos. Toppings are endless and variations have no limits but here are some of my favourites.

  • Pickled Red Onions (I consider this ESSENTIAL for any and all Mexican-inspired meals)
  • Diced Avocado or Guacamole
  • Shredded Lettuce
  • Diced Tomatoes
  • Jalapeños
  • Black Beans
  • Cilantro
  • Pico de Gallo
  • Ground beef, chicken, turkey or veggie (this is a good hidden veggie ground recipe: Sneaky Mommy Taco Ground)
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded chicken (mom hack: grab a rotisserie chicken and shred away)
  • Salsa
  • Hot sauce (or make your own Chipotle Sauce)
